2. Inauguration Function of English Literary Association

The inauguration function of the English Literary Association marked the beginning of a series of literary events and activities aimed at fostering creativity and literary appreciation among students. The highlight of the event was a guest lecture titled “The Importance of Communication Skills among the Youth,” delivered by a distinguished speaker, emphasizing the role of effective communication in personal and professional success

4. Awareness Program on SWAYAM

6. Quiz Competition on the life of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan

As part of the department’s efforts to celebrate eminent personalities and promote intellectual engagement, a quiz competition on the life and works of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was organized. 7. Mary Kom’s Interview Screening for B.A. Part-1 Students

Date: 07/09/2023

In collaboration with the sports department, the English Department organized a screening of an interview featuring the legendary boxer, Mary Kom. The screening aimed to inspire and motivate students by showcasing the determination, resilience, and success of a prominent sports personality.

8. Screening of Documentary Film: “Speeches at the World’s Parliament of Religions”

Date: 27/09/2023

The department screened the documentary film “Speeches at the World’s Parliament of Religions” by Swami Vivekananda, commemorating his historic address at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893. Through this screening, students were exposed to the timeless message of universal brotherhood, religious tolerance, and spiritual harmony espoused by Swami Vivekananda.

9. Online Guest Lecture – “English for Career Development”

Date: 14/03/2024

Mr. Prafull Kose, an esteemed faculty member, delivered an insightful guest lecture on the role of English language proficiency in career development. Through real-life examples and practical tips, Mr. Kose guided students on how to leverage their language skills to enhance their employability and succeed in today’s competitive job market.

10. Certificate Course in Spoken English

Course Coordinator: Mr. Arjun Khobragade

Duration: January 2, 2024, to April 8, 2024

The English Department introduced a Certificate Course in Spoken English to equip students with the essential communication skills required for academic and professional success. Under the guidance of Mr. Arjun Khobragade, Assistant Professor of English, students underwent a comprehensive training program aimed at improving their spoken English proficiency, confidence, and fluency. 11. Daily Listening Activity: “AIR MORNING NEWS”

Start Date: 03/10/2023

To enhance students’ listening comprehension skills and expose them to authentic English language usage, the department initiated a daily listening activity featuring the All India Radio’s morning news broadcasts. By listening to news reports, interviews, and discussions on current affairs, students developed their listening skills, vocabulary, and understanding of spoken English in real-life contexts.
