Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Seloo is run by the Yeshwant Rural Education Society, Wardha. The college was established in the year 1972 by the visionary educational leader Late Bapuraoji Deshmukh with the aim to spread higher education among rural people and deprived classes. The college runs BA programme. Besides, a junior college with Arts, Commerce and Science faculties is attached to the college. The college is affiliated to the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj, Nagpur University, Nagpur. In 2011 National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC) re-accredited the college with “C” grade. The college is grant in aided by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under 12B and 2F. It is important to note that the Govt. of Maharashtra honoured “Yeshwant Rural Education Society” by conferring upon it the Best Educational Institute Award in 2002.

At present, the college is scaling new heights in the field of education under the able guidance of Shri Sameer Sureshrao Deshmukh President of Yeshwant Rural Education Society, Wardha. The college organized many academic programs for students and teachers at different levels. The college has a computerized library with an OPAC system, Internet connectivity, a well developed infrastructure efficient office staff. While the College provides a blend of academic, cultural and intellectual resources, it also brings to the students a dynamic environment for the overall development of their personalities, aspirations and talents.
Today, Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Seloo, stands apart among other affiliated colleges of Nagpur University. Along with the under – graduate programmes, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities play a significant role in moulding personality of students and in broadening their approach to life and the world at large.

Principal’s Desk
I would like to pen down a few words about my college. Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Seloo, Dist. Wardha was established in the year 1972. The college is affiliated to the RTM, Nagpur University, Nagpur. The college is grant in aided by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under 12B and 2F. In 2011 National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC) re-accredited the college with “C” grade.
The college belongs to Yeshwant Rural Education Society, Wardha, which has rich academic tradition in Wardha district (M.S.). The institute is an outcome of the spirit of openness and enquiry practiced by the great social reformer, Late. Shri. Baburaoji Deshmukh and other respected intellectuals and social workers from Wardha. The vision of these socialists was transformed into the establishment of Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya, Seloo.
As an important rural educational center, presently the college consists of junior and senior college wings. Our educational institute is committed to develop skills, character and personality of student so that they can shoulder every responsibility in the future. The well qualified and experienced teaching faculty of the college takes every effort to achieve the goals of students and the institution. The institute provides scholarships to economically weak students with good academic records.
The college consists of attractive campus with different facilities, such as internet connectivity, rich library, well equipped laboratories, modern gymnasium and spacious ground. Due to our commitments and devoted work, we could maintain quality in higher education and could grow steadily during the past five decades.
